The winners of the 2011 New Zealand Post Children's Book Awards were announced last week. The Young Adult Fiction Category Award Winner was Fierce September by Fleur Beale.
Noted local author Ken Catran won the Children's Choice Award Young Adult Category for Smiling Jack, described by Booksellers NZ as "a classic whodunnit with a startling and unexpected twist, Ken Catran's dark and brooding murder mystery is a real pageturner that will have you looking over your shoulder like Robert, desperately trying to second-guess Smiling Jack."
